Wow, the Miami Heat are getting no respect tonight. Honestly, I don’t blame the books. This is not the same team that represented the Eastern Conference in the NBA Finals last season. It lost crucial depth and barely squeaked out a victory against the Detroit Pistons in its first game. While the Heat are expected to take a step back this season, the Celtics are ready to make the push for that coveted title. They are headlined on the defense end with the acquisition of Jrue Holiday and the best backcourt defense in the league with Derrick White. That leads us to our top player prop bet for Heat-Celtics: Jimmy Butler under 34.5 points + rebounds + assists.

Butler is right up there as the most interesting player in the NBA — not just off the court, but on the court as well. He seems to turn up in the playoffs when needed but breezes through the regular season. This matchup is as tough as it can get for Butler, though. The Celtics backcourt defense will be lethal this season, while newly acquired Kristaps Porzingis will hold it down in the paint. They were daunting in their season-opener against the New York Knicks. The backcourt duo of Jalen Brunson and R.J. Barrett shot a combined 14-for-42 and dished out just eight assists.

Butler squeaked by this line against the Pistons as he reeled down 13 rebounds, while Bam Adebayo had just eight. We have a lot of outs on this play, as the Heat are 8.5-point underdogs, a blowout looming, foul trouble on the defensive end and the nightmare matchup on the offensive end. Check out our OddsShopper tools that have labeled this as a must-bet.
