Kawhi Leonard Injury Update | Tuesday, March 12

The Los Angeles Clippers could be without a few key pieces tonight. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are both injured but are questionable, so they could suit up, but Russell Westbrook is out.

Leonard is dealing with a groin ailment that held him out of a game on March 10. Los Angeles was playing its second game in two days for that one, so it makes sense that Leonard sat. He has missed just six games all season.

Although Leonard is notorious for load management, this doesn’t seem like a load management spot. He may actually be hurt. The Clippers aren’t playing again tomorrow, but they are playing on Thursday and Friday

But is Kawhi Leonard playing on Tuesday? The Clippers are listing him and Paul George as questionable but are trading as 6.5-point favorites over the Timberwolves. That could be a result of the Timberwolves’ own injuries, but it speaks to how messy this game is.

It’s encouraging to see the sportsbooks taking action on other players for the Clippers. Odds are open for Ivica Zubac, James Harden and Terance Mann, which suggests that the books don’t expect their projected output to swing much at this point in the day.

Is Kawhi Leonard Playing on Tuesday?

Leonard’s status for Tuesday is to be determined, but I suspect he may end up playing. With the Timberwolves having questions swirling around Gobert — and with Towns out — Minnesota could be down to Naz Reid and Luka Garza at the five, which may create openings in the paint. I’m personally backing Zubac to go over his points line despite Leonard and George possibly suiting up, so you may be able to get a better line later in the day.
