If you’ve followed my work, you know I love to bet unders on player props. I have another one for you tonight and it’s primed to be sweaty. Donovan Mitchell and the Cavaliers will have their work cut out for them tonight. Not because they’re facing off against a New York Knicks defense, allowing the 12th fewest points in the league and having multiple perimeter defenders to throw at Mitchell, but because they’ll be without point guard Darius Garland and defensive anchor Jarrett Allen.
Mitchell’s usage will be much higher tonight – that’s not in question. What is in question is if that will result in Mitchell racking up assists. His points line is hovering around 32.5: make sure to shop prices using OddsShopper’s tools if you’re looking to back the elite tw0-guard. I expect him to score in bunches, but when Garland is inactive, we haven’t seen Mitchell put up crazy assist numbers. In the one game this season without Garland, Mitchell failed to record over seven assists. Last season, he stayed under in four of nine games. But with the pace of play and severely low total for this battle against the New York Knicks, I have Mitchell staying under seven assists.
