Let’s keep the positive vibes flowing following a 2-for-4 (Wednesday was the off day) week hitting a first basket prop! It’s a juicy slate tonight with a bunch of games in the NBA, as value is overflowing for the fastest sweat in the sport. Wizards-76ers First Basket Odds & Pick Tonight
It’s no secret how bad the Wizards are, even if they are trying — it’s just awful. With the new “anti-rest” rule in effect this year, it seems like a perfect night for Joel Embiid to let some other guys take the spotlight. He will be fine, including winning the opening tip, but this game has blowout written all over it in South Philadelphia. As for the first possession, clearly both Embiid (+250 on FanDuel) and Tyrese Maxey (+600) are the favorites, but don’t count out Philadelphia’s upgrade for James Harden. The headache is gone, and the team is relishing the idea of Kelly Oubre being a consistent third scorer — primarily jacking from 3. This is a great spot for the 76ers to work Oubre in their opening set to get an easy 3 and keep pouring on the pressure. Outside of an Embiid dunk, an early made 3 will get the place rocking to an uncomfortable level for Washington.
As seen already in a short span, Oubre has the green light from Nick Nurse and should be the first to score tonight in Philadelphia.

The Rockets are starting to see some productivity from one of their bigger acquisitions this offseason; it just took a couple of games. Houston has a tough one with Sacramento in town despite still not having De’Aaron Fox ready for a return. Houston is best served getting like Dillon Brooks involved right away, especially after consecutive 20-point games — both Houston wins. In fact, the Rockets just beat the Kings on Saturday night. Brooks has been able to knock down some shots, with a light that’s green enough to launch from deep. Alperen Sengun won the tip on Saturday for Houston and should have repeat success tonight. At 10-1, it’s worth a sprinkle on Brooks, who can help set the tone both emotionally and in the box score with an early bucket.
