The San Antonio Spurs will be without unicorn Victor Wembanyama tonight, which means two things:
- Devin Vassell should likely see an increase in usage
- The Spurs have EVEN MORE of a chance to get absolutely SMOKED tonight
Let’s play this scenario out in which we think San Antonio loses by the 16.5 the spread indicates tonight, or somewhere in the 16-25 point range.
Obviously, the Spurs will be leaning a bit more on Vassell, Keldon Johnson and probably Zach Collins without Wemby. Vassell has a usage rate of right around 20% this season; but without Wemby, that rate goes up to over 26%. That’s not an insignificant difference.
Our guy finally broke out of his shooting slump two games ago against the Lakers, which we were waiting for. Tonight with more shots likely coming his way, I think we can fire up the over on 19.5 points.
After all, Milwaukee still sits in the bottom 10 of the NBA in defensive rating this season, and we’ve seen them give it up at times this year. So, for Leg 1 of our NBA parlay today, let’s get in on the Vassell points prop.

In two games since returning from injury, Jerami Grant has taken 19 and 20 shots. I mean, this truly is just something you love to see.
On those 39 shots, he’s made 23 of them and scored 27 and 30 points, respectively. So, there’s one thing we know about Jerami Grant when he’s on the floor — he’s gonna chuck.
So, I ask you: What changes tonight?
The answer: Absolutely nothing.
Against the Phoenix Suns, the Blazers are going to need to get some offense going, and Grant has gone over the 22.5 point mark in two of his last three games against the Suns.
Like I said, the fella is gonna chuck the rock probably somewhere in the neighborhood of 18-22 times, and if I’m getting that many attempts from Grant, I’m rolling with the over every day of the week.
Jusuf Nurkic Under 14.5 Points (NBA Player Prop)
I saw this Jusuf Nurkic line bouncing around between 13.5-14.5 points this morning, and the under was right at +100 or -105 when I fired it up. This line has now moved to -120 at most books. Look at us! Out here moving lines on a Tuesday morning. 🤣
Nurkic has low key been doing some steady work in the paint for the Suns. He’s been a machine of late. But, I think that’s a bit of an outlier situation.
Yes, he has gone over the 14.5 mark in four of his last five games. But, he’s never really been an extremely focal point of the Suns offense, and with the Suns struggling of late, losing four of their last six games.
This feels like the Devin Booker and Kevin Durant takeover show tonight to get them back on track.
The only thing we need to avoid is the revenge factor from Nurkic, because we know this man can get as salty as McDonald’s French fry.
