We cashed two of our three tickets from Portfolio EV, including a +180 monster from Jimmy Butler. With fewer games on the schedule tonight, there’s less opportunity to find value in the market. That hasn’t stopped our tools from identifying some strong plays across multiple contests, so yes, you can even build a parlay. The Brooklyn Nets are hoping to catch the Denver Nuggets sleeping following the latter’s overtime victory last night in Toronto. Elsewhere, the Mavericks and Timberwolves square off with revenge in the air. Here are your top 3 NBA player prop picks by Portfolio EV.

The biggest selling point for Portfolio EV — outside of it working — is how efficient it truly is. Sure, we’ve already proven time and time again how effective our betting tools are, but it’s also about how much time they can save you. Not many tools are able to narrow in and hit the sweet spot of profit and efficient — Portfolio EV does just that.
Don’t believe me? Look at the results. Both Greg Ehrenberg and I are tracking profit across the NBA season, strictly using Portfolio EV. The tool does the work in that it’s sifting through multiple books, removing vig and matching it against the sharpest books on the planet. It’s worked for me, it’s working for others, and we will use it each night to build more winning tickets.
Portfolio EV cooked the sportsbooks for a 34,701-28,301 (7.6% ROI) record on NBA props just one season ago. You can find all of our +EV betting results posted for free on our site, too. To help you get started constructing your profitable portfolio of NBA player prop bets, tail these plays:
We asked Jimmy Butler to remain scoreless from behind the arc; he obliged, and we cashed a +180 ticket. Tonight, we look to (what should be) a tired Nikola Jokic and at least offer him one make.
Beyond the second night of a back-to-back, and the fact that last night went to overtime in Toronto, is the price. We must start with the price. That’s always where we begin when looking at any advantages against the market.
DraftKings is offering Jokic at +114 to remain under 1.5 made 3’s. No other book is close; BetMGM is somewhat competitive at +100 but not close to DraftKings. In fact, DraftKings’ price is 21 full points better than the true odds, -107.
We just beat the market price on one of the most popular players across the entire NBA — not easy, but with so many markets available, it’s certainly possible each and every night.
This is the first step towards profit and the same exact strategy applied last night. There’s a proven method to constantly betting anything greater than the market price. Beating fair odds, then the rest of the books, we’ve identified a “bad” line.
We also know that Jokic and his team have played a ton of hoops over the past few years. While a back-to-back normally might not take its toll this early, Denver is far from an average team — playing deep into the postseason. This could easily be a role player or bench game with the starters seeing fewer minutes, especially if the game gets out of hand on either side (yes, the Nets line already dropped by 2.5 points).
We apply the same logic and approach to the other two plays, as both Kyrie Irving and Russell Westbrook fall into similar patterns. We gain massive edge by attacking both spots — a 5.3% EV gain on the Irving assists bet and 4.9% EV with Westbrook’s points prop.
