Kyrie Irving Under 6.0 Assists

Lead playmaking duties should presumably be Irving’s for the time being due to Kevin Durant‘s injury. And Irving has produced in the assist department in this role, recording six or more in the three games he has played since Durant went out. He has now at least met this line of six assists in six straight games — though four of those were pushes.

But interestingly enough, Ben Simmons is the guy seeing more of an uptick in assists. Simmons has totals of 6, 11, 13, 7 and 9 over his last five, averaging over nine a game in this stretch, compared to Irving’s 6.2. The PrizePicks NBA Player Props Tool is predicting that to hold true tonight as well against the Jazz. Utah presents a slight pace down for the Nets, who are 14th in the NBA since Durant went out, and Stokastic is projecting Irving for only 5.2 assists. That gives the under a 68% expected win rate.

Stephen Curry Over 4.0 3-Pointers

Four is a lot of 3’s for an over, even for Curry, but the PrizePicks NBA Player Props Tool is still all over it. Curry has a projection of 5.2 made 3’s and 71% win expectancy as he takes on the Cavaliers.

This all comes down to personnel for Golden State. The Cavaliers and Warriors are on opposite ends of the pace spectrum — Cleveland is 30th and Golden State first — and Cleveland allows the fifth-fewest 3-point attempts, but the Warriors will likely be without Klay Thompson in this one. Thompson rarely plays back-to-backs, and this will be the Warriors’ second back-to-back this week. Thompson’s absence vacates 10.3 3-point attempts a game. Curry has played five games this season without Thompson and hit this over in three while averaging 5.2 3’s per game.

As luck would have it, 5.2 is exactly where Stokastic is projecting Curry tonight. On top of that, Curry made 6 of 11 in his one matchup with the Cavaliers this season (Nov. 11). At his 41.7% clip on 3’s this year, he only needs to take 10 3’s to surpass four makes, and he has only taken fewer than 10 five times all season. And he played less than 30 minutes in three of those five, whereas tonight he projects to play 33.9.

Update: Curry has been ruled out
