NBA Championship Bets: One Bettor Likes Knicks Chances
Per sports betting insider Sam McQuillan, one bettor put $500 on the Knicks to win the NBA Championship at +20000 odds on PointsBet Sportsbook, meaning it would net $100k if it hits. That same bettor put $150 to win $15k bet on the Knicks to win the Eastern Conference.
The Knicks (33-27) currently hold the sixth-place position in the Eastern Conference and had been playing some of their best basketball heading into the All-Star Break. They won five of their last six games, and have been getting some signature performances from offseason addition Jalen Brunson. He scored at least 25 points in each of the team’s last five games before the break, making a case that he should have been included in the All-Star festivities.
“I knew he would have a long career in the NBA, but I didn’t think it was gonna be how he’s playing now. And he’s someone who should be an All-Star, and he’s playing at an All-Star level,” Knicks newly-acquired forward Josh Hart said after Brunson had 40 points in a blowout win over the Nets, per SNY. “It’s amazing to see, just because I know the work he puts in. But more importantly, he’s a great person. He’s a heck of a kid. He’s respectful. He’s a leader. He’s everything you want in your leader, as someone you wanna build your franchise around.”
The Knicks seem to have found a rhythm around the elite play from Brunson heading into the break. And one bettor thinks they have what it takes to ride that momentum all the way to the NBA Finals.
