That’s enough for me in this plus matchup. The Rockets will match Davis with Alperen Sengün, a star in the making. But he draws one of the toughest assignments in basketball for a big man. Davis can take defenders off the dribble, dominant in the post, and even shoot the midrange. In November, when Davis matched up against Sengün, Davis scored 27 points, reeled in 10 rebounds, and dished out three assists.
Davis has put it all together in the last few games. During this five game span, he’s averaging 40 PRA, surpassing this line in three games. He’s shooting the ball at a 55% clip and getting to the free-throw line an average of seven times a game. With a five-point spread and no game tomorrow for LA or the rest of the NBA, I expect Davis to continue to log 35 minutes and outduel the much-improved Sengün.
