Stephen Curry Injury Update: Is Golden State’s Star Playing Tonight?
Stephen Curry Injury Update
The Golden State Warriors may not have superstar guard Stephen Curry tonight. He picked up a questionable tag for right knee soreness ahead of Tuesday’s home stand against the Minnesota Timberwolves. Curry dealt with a left knee injury last year, so this issue is a new one.
Curry has played all 11 of Golden State’s games thus far, including both sides of three back-to-back sets. Curry managed to play 30-plus minutes on both sides of those sets, but each of those games had a double-digit outcome, allowing the Warriors to pull back earlier.
Is Stephen Curry Playing for Golden State Tonight?
So is Stephen Curry playing or the Golden State Warriors tonight? I’m not sure. The Warriors aren’t on the front end of a back-to-back set tonight, as they’ll next play the Oklahoma City Thunder on Thursday. While it is Golden State’s fourth game in three days, Curry has also played in this situation three times already this year.
Still, Golden State’s grueling recent schedule means that I wouldn’t be surprised if Curry rests. He just played 32 minutes on Saturday and 36 on Sunday. Sunday’s workload marked the high water mark for his season — he was yet to log more than 35 minutes before the loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves.
The Warriors are a 2.5-point home favorite over the Wolves tonight at BetMGM. Curry’s point total sits at 30.5. If you’re skeptical about whether Curry will play like me, consider backing Minnesota against the spread or on the moneyline.
