Tyrese Haliburton Player Prop: Best Pacers-Celtics Bet (January 30)

The Pacers are just trying to get healthy. Despite winning three straight games and bouncing back from a rough stretch in January, there’s plenty of injury concern surrounding Indy. Tyrese Haliburton is trending toward playing but already suffered a setback by rushing his return earlier this month. With him likely back on the floor, let’s dive into the Tyrese Haliburton player prop odds to identify the best bet for Tuesday’s Pacers-Celtics matchup. Although Hali is expected to go, there may be a minutes restriction for him. Add Myles Turner and Jalen Smith to the injury report, too — the latter player has been downgraded to doubtful. The last time the Celtics and Pacers played, Bennedict Mathurin sealed the deal with a last-second bucket, but he is also doubtful. Indy can only hope to catch the Celtics slipping on the second leg of a back-to-back — it might be the only way for the Pacers to get their fourth straight win.

Pacers-Celtics Player Prop Pick: Tyrese Haliburton O/U 35.5 PRA

We know Haliburton is playing, but we’re just not sure how much he’ll play. He has missed 10 of the last 11 games with a nagging hamstring injury — something that just doesn’t go from 0 to 60 overnight. He’ll be restricted as the number indicates — Hali is averaging close to 40 PRA on the year. The minutes restriction may not be enough to limit him below 35.5 PRA, but two other factors play a role in this being the best bet of the night.

The Pacers might be down three other players — listed above — due to injury, including two in their frontcourt and the other being their fourth-leading scorer. Taking out two of the top four scorers is certainly going to impact Haliburton’s ability to create, as guys still need to actually make the shots he sets up.

While the Pacers are familiar with the Celtics, they’re making just their second appearance in Boston this year. With no home crowd to reward with extra Haliburton minutes, if he can’t keep his team in it, he’ll sit. The spread moved from 5-to-5.5 up to 7, and it should continue that trend when injury news becomes official.

This is also a revenge game for the Celtics. They were outscored in the second half of their most recent loss to Indy, and they come in bolstered on defense. They are a top-five team in defensive scoring and opposing field goal percentage and should remain stingy defensively even if Kristaps Porzingis sits for the second straight night.

Thanks to OddsShopper’s model, we found a favorable number: the +110 at DraftKings. Every other book is charging a fee for the under 35.5, meaning you are laying juice to bet this. It won’t be an easy night for Haliburton or his team, so fade him on this market.
