Patrick Beverley H/L Than 9.5 Points
No Dame, no Giannis, not much hope left for the Bucks. Patrick Beverly is not turning into a prolific scorer overnight, nor is he suddenly going to find scoring spots not present earlier in the series. Normally, looking at a L5 or L10 trend in the NBA is a path down the wrong street, but when it’s against the same team in a playoff series – it can be telling. PatBev failed to hit 10 points in three of four games so far, which is more telling of game flow and matchup being an issue than anything else.
The matchups haven’t changed like the lack of teammates around him, and even shot volume is staying the same throughout their battle with the Pacers. The only difference is how many buckets Beverly hits off his 5-6 shots a night. The Pacers are brimming with confidence and will try to run the Bucks off the floor, ending their season in the process. Beverly is a great locker room guy, but that’s not transferring into 12-14 points against a team where he’s already struggled.
Spin it back to the regular season and Beverly still failed to hit this number in all three games. Healthy or not, the Bucks aren’t turning to an increase of shot volume for Beverly, which gives us an edge on the LESS than 9.5 points. The main edge comes from the price. Tyrese Maxey H/L Than 4.5 Rebounds
Everything is tight in Philadelphia right now with the 76ers. Maybe it’s a good thing they take on the Knicks at MSG instead of South Philly. Tyrese Maxey has been a staple on the floor all four games, playing a minimum of 41 minutes. Even with that extended floor time, Maxey has only surpassed this rebound total twice.
This is an interesting matchup not only because of the Knicks guards who rebound, but also the lack of rebounding presence from an injured Joel Embiid. The Knicks have seen Josh Hart take over the rebounding department despite a struggle to score last game. Maxey played 41 minutes in Game 3 and finished with 4 boards, and 44 in Game 1 with just 2 rebounds.
There’s been variance but it seems to favor the under side of that more than his other two games, especially Game 2 which looks more like a statistical anomaly for both rebounds and assists. Ultimately, the Knicks present a tough matchup for backup rebounds and it’s worth the play on the LESS than 4.5 boards.
