Updated Warriors-Grizzlies Series Odds After Warriors Hang On in Game 4
Per DraftKings Sportsbook, the Warriors (-180) have taken over as the series favorites over the Kings (+150). Golden State entered the series as the favorites but quickly turned into an underdog after digging themselves an 0-2 hole. The Kings had a chance to steal Game 4 from the Warriors in the waning moments. Down one with 10 seconds to go, the Kings turned to De’Aaron Fox to make a play. But after the Warriors forced the clutch point guard to give the ball up, it was Harrison Barnes who missed the would-be game-winner at the buzzer.
It is unsurprising but still amazing how Warriors point guard Stephen Curry has been able to carry the Warriors to get them back into the series. After pouring in 36 points in the Game 3 win, Curry led the way for the Warriors with 32 on Sunday afternoon.
But Curry nearly cost the Warriors on Sunday when calling a timeout the team did not have with a little over 40 seconds left. The gaffe gave the Kings a technical free throw and allowed them a puncher’s chance to pull off the win in the final minute. Luckily for Curry and the Warriors, they can now laugh off the honest mistake and look forward to the rest of the series.
In order to pull out the series, Golden State will need to do something they have not done a whole lot of this season: win a game on the road. The Warriors remain one of the elite teams in the league when playing at Chase Center but had a head-scratching 11-30 record on the road during the regular season. They continued this trend when losing the first two games of the series in Sacramento.
The Warriors have all the pedigree and talent to get past the Grizzlies. And based on the latest Warriors-Kings series odds, sportsbooks are fairly confident they can figure out their road woes to steal (at least) one game at FedExForum before the series concludes.
