The Golden State Warriors were carried by a historic performance from Stephen Curry to come away victorious in Game 7 against the Sacramento Kings. Warriors-Lakers Series Odds: Golden State Opens As Favorites
Per DraftKings Sportsbook, the Warriors (-155) will begin the series as favorites over the Lakers (+130). DraftKings is also offering new users $150 in bet credits with any $5 bet on the NBA Playoffs!
The Warriors were able to blow past the Sacramento Kings in the second half thanks, in large part, to a 50-point performance from Curry. Despite being behind for most of the first half of Game 7, the Warriors ended up winning convincingly, 120-100.
Curry’s 50 points broke a record set by Kevin Durant for most points ever scored in an NBA Playoffs Game 7.
The Lakers will enter the Round 2 series with a little bit more rest after defeating the Memphis Grizzlies in six games. LA leaned on James and Davis throughout the first round series, and the stars were able to prevail through some bad-blood with Memphis to advance to the second round.
While James and Davis have experience playing deep into the NBA Playoffs, their supporting cast features a much different group than when they won the NBA championship in 2020.
“We’ve got a young ballclub with not much experience in the postseason,” James said, per Fan Nation. “So I try to give my knowledge about what I’ve been through, what they could expect… As hard as this series felt and as hard as this series was, it gets even harder when you move a level up.”
The Warriors certainly don’t have to worry about experience, running it back with mostly the same group who won it all last season. The latest Warriors-Lakers series odds show Golden State as an unsurprising favorite. But don’t be shocked if these Lakers make it tough on them throughout the series.
