College Baseball Odds, Pick & Prediction Today: Saturday, February 17

We started this year’s college baseball season with a 2-1 showing, cashing a moneyline parlay and West Virginia -1.5 but losing Vanderbilt -2.5. The ‘Dores just had to go and blow a 6-0 lead, but at least they delivered with a walk-off win for our Discord parlay. Let’s dive into today’s college baseball odds to make our picks and predictions for today, Saturday, February 17. Hungry for more? I’ve got more picks on Discord. College Baseball Odds, Pick & Prediction Today

Air Force Falcons at Mississippi State Bulldogs

AF: +170 | MSU -220
Game Time: 5 pm. ET
Where: Starkville, Miss.
Odds via DraftKings

The Mississippi State Bulldogs rebuilt their pitching rotation this offseason with a slew of transfers, including today’s starter, RHP Khal Stephen. Stephen was shaky for Purdue last year, but his 2.73 ERA in the Cape Cod league points to meaningful improvement.

Stephen should give the Bulldogs a leg up on the mound, especially relative to who the Falcons will start. Air Force plans to trot out LHP Jack Bello, a two-way guy who missed last season with an ACL injury and has yet to throw a collegiate pitch. Bello’s lack of experience will make Saturday’s road start all the more challenging.

The Bulldogs boast enough offensive talent to take care of business tonight. The team returns three of its four leaders by OPS, Hunter Hines (1.058), Dakota Jordan (.972) and Amani Larry (.963), the three of whom led off for the Bulldogs yesterday. I’m backing Mississippi State to win outright at odds of -220 for a two-leg college baseball parlay.

Tennessee Volunteers at Oklahoma Sooners

UTK: -238 | OKLA +180
Game Time: 6 pm. ET
Where: Arlington, Texas
Odds via DraftKings

In a neutral site game in Arlington, Texas — part of the Shriners Children’s College Baseball Showdown — the Tennessee Volunteers will take on the Oklahoma Sooners as the road team. I expect them to win this one, especially with RHP Drew Beam taking the mound.

With the departures of RHPs Chase Dollander and Chase Burns, the Vols’ pitching staff took some hits this offseason, but Beam’s return is a great sign. Beam started 17 games for the Vols last season and recorded an impressive 3.63 ERA over 84.1 innings pitched. He was the program’s winningest pitcher with a 9-4 record, too.

Beam will line up against Oklahoma RHP Brendan Girton. Girton transfers in from Texas Tech, where he recorded a 5.82 ERA and a 2-2 record over 50.2 innings pitched last year. Girton wasn’t even a regular member of the Red Raiders’ rotation, as he made only seven starts in 15 appearances. The Vols are trading at -250 almost everywhere else but at -238 at DraftKings. Lock this one in for our two-leg college baseball parlay.
