College Baseball Tournament 2023 Betting Odds & Picks Today: Regionals

Fayetteville Regional: Arkansas vs. TCU | Monday, 3 p.m. ET

The Arkansas Razorbacks must find a way to beat the TCU Horned Frogs twice in a row on Monday. The Horned Frogs feasted against the Razorbacks on Sunday with a massive 20-5 win. The Razorbacks won their first elimination game later that day to stay alive but still find themselves on the brink of an early exit.

The Razorbacks have chewed through their bullpen; Arkansas relievers have thrown a whopping 312 pitches to TCU’s 113. That should give the Horned Frogs some soft pitching to tee off against. Although the Horned Frogs weren’t consistent this year, they have gone an impressive 8-6 against top-25 teams.

Unfortunately for Arkansas, TCU’s offense might prove too much for their depleted pitching staff to handle. The Horned Frogs rank 50th in OPS (.889), 34th in OBP (.403) and 18th in runs scored (493). The Razorbacks rank 91st (.858), 95th (.389) and 42nd (458) in those metrics.

Stanford Regional: Texas A&M vs. Stanford | Monday, 9 p.m. ET

Today’s marquee college baseball game doesn’t get underway until 9 p.m. ET in Palo Alto, Calif. The Stanford Cardinal still have a shot to advance with a win over the Texas A&M Aggies despite faltering against them earlier. The Aggies took the first game 8-5 but lost the second one 13-5.

Although they have played one fewer postseason game than the Cardinal, Texas A&M’s bullpen is up to 421 pitches thrown. Stanford’s bullpen has thrown only 329 pitches. Starter Nathan Dettmer is fresh, but head coach Jim Schlossnagle hasn’t committed to him yet because of his recent struggles.

With Texas A&M’s pitching staff either gassed or performing poorly, Stanford’s offense should overwhelm them here. That’s made all the more significant because Stanford’s offense already outranked A&M’s. The Cardinal rank 11th in OPS (.952), 32nd in OBP (.405) and 15th in total runs (502), while the Aggies rank 112th (.847), 59th (.397) and 37th (464), respectively.
