South Dakota State and Denver play for the third time here with the stakes much higher with a chance to go to the big dance.
Although they split during the year, South Dakota State should have advantages all over the court, including with the best player on the floor in Zeke Mayo.
Denver plays at lightning speed, but they play no defense, as they rank outside the top 330 in both 2-point and 3-point percentage.
They are nearly dead last in the entire country in effective field goal defense as well, and South Dakota State should have quality looks all night.
I don’t think this stays close and given Denver’s pace SDSU could easily open this up to double digits and not look back

College Basketball Expert Pick #2: Canisius-Mount St. Mary’s Prediction

OddsShopper’s college basketball betting tools advise putting action on this Canisius-Mount St. Mary’s first-half total before the value evaporates: FanDuel is offering a bet for -106 when the rest of the market is trading a point lower — and the sharp books have this line at -149.
Using a market-based betting approach can feel weird, but it’s profitable. Between the start of the NBA season and the All-Star Break, the model recorded an ROI of 8.6% on all NBA player prop bets wagered 12 hours before tip and 5% on those wagered two hours before tip.

College Basketball Expert Pick #3: College of Charleston-Stony Brook Prediction

The 2024 CAA tournament will come to a close with a battle between the No. 1 College of Charleston Cougars facing the No. 7 Stony Brook Seawolves. Stony Brook wasn’t supposed to get this far in the tournament, and the odds reflect their underdog status — they’re currently trading as 9.5-to-10-point dogs.
The Seawolves were in a similar spot both on Sunday and yesterday. They responded by beating No. 2 Drexel by three and No. 3 Hofstra by four. The grueling schedule may have worn them down, but the Seawolves have now covered the spread in their last seven games, improving to a 24-8-1 ATS, the second-best such record in college basketball.
The Cougars are good, sure, but I don’t think they’re 10 points better than the Seawolves. College of Charleston is a breakeven 16-15-1 ATS this year. They dip to 6-6 ATS when listed as a double-digit favorite. BartTorvik only favors the Cougars by 5.7. With Stony Brook’s season on the line, I expect them to cover the 10-point spread.
