NCAA Tournament Perfect Bracket Tracker: Did Fairleigh Dickinson Bust All Brackets?

The NCAA Tournament offers bettors everywhere a seemingly impossible task: fill out the perfect bracket. Usually, we hear about a couple of perfect brackets lingering around through the first weekend, but this year is a bit different. The first two rounds of March madness have provided even more upsets than usual, with the biggest coming when Farleigh Dickinson knocked off No. 1 seed, Purdue, on Friday night. The latest NCAA Tournament perfect bracket report now shows there is no one in the country left to track.

NCAA Tournament Perfect Bracket Report: Fairleigh Dickinson Busts All Brackets

NCAA.com does a perfect bracket tracker by using all brackets across major websites. Surprisingly enough, there were actually a handful of brackets still perfect after Princeton knocked off Arizona on Saturday night. But when Fairleigh Dickinson shocked Purdue, not one bracket was still in pursuit of perfection.

Only 2.6% of total brackets had FDU defeating Purdue and none of those brackets were perfect up until the upset win. Friday began with 787 perfect brackets, but that number moved down to 26 before Fairleigh Dickinson-Purdue tipped off. Of course, none of those 26 brackets made it past that shocking upset, meaning we’ll have to wait until next year to see if the perfect bracket dream can come to fruition.

Fairleigh Dickinson head coach Tobin Anderson even admitted he had his doubts his team could really beat Purdue, until late in the game when it all started to come together for the 63-58 win.

“You know, I told the guys before Purdue, I said, ‘You know, this is going to be hard. To beat Purdue, it’s gonna be really, really hard … It’s gonna be an unbelievable challenge, but we’re here. There’s an opportunity here, right? We have 40 minutes to go make it happen.’ So, just to get here is incredibly special,” Anderson said, per CBS News.

The lack of NCAA Tournament perfect brackets shows how many potential Cinderella teams remain in the field, none bigger than Fairleigh Dickinson. They will take on FAU on Sunday night with a trip to the Sweet 16 on the line.
