Best CFB Week 2 Parlay | September 9
Week 2 Parlay Pick: Notre Dame-North Carolina State
The Fighting Irish head into their third straight week of action giving up no more than a field goal in each of their previous two games. Cleary their biggest test so far for Notre Dame is hitting the road against the Wolfpack. Teams like Notre Dame playing their third game of the season do not do great against the spread against a team that is 1-0 and won more than seven games the previous year. North Carolina State head coach Dave Doeren sits 12-0 straight up and 6-2 against the spread in home openers, allowing some level of success to transfer over against a good Notre Dame team. The big question for the Irish is simply how consistent they can be from two cupcakes to a formidable opponent — and on the road, for that matter. There is something about playing at home for the Pack, as North Carolina State is 6-1 against the spread over its last seven home openers.
The kicker: Our “Ben Rasa Least Approved Stat of the Day” is road favorites in Game 3 of the season, coming off consecutive wins of 25-plus points, are just 4-19 against the spread when facing an opponent that allows 20 or fewer points per game (thanks to Marc Lawrence for that monster).
CFB Parlay Pick: North Carolina State +7.5
Week 2 Parlay Pick: Texas A&M-Miami
The second leg heads to South Beach, with another live dog hosting an overrated offense. Texas A&M beat up on New Mexico — big deal. The Lobos are one of the worst programs in the country and should have their hats handed to them by nearly anyone. Miami also faced an inferior opponent last week but did not open up the entire playbook to beat Miami (Ohio), instead running the ball into the ground. Jimbo Fisher has not fared well in this situation in the past, sitting just 4-13-1 against the spread all time in road openers. That number drops to 0-5-1 when favored by 3 or more points. Miami can still throw the ball despite not really having to do much against Miami (Ohio), so expect some quicker hits from Tyler Van Dyke under any pressure from Texas A&M’s defensive front.
The kicker: Mario Cristobal is 13-5 against the spread vs unbeaten teams. Take Miami with points at home.
