Week 5 Parlay Pick: Florida-Kentucky

Here come the Gators. Kentucky hosts this SEC showdown on Saturday as Florida takes flight for the first time in a month. The Gators are on a double revenge tour after dropping their last two to Kentucky. Despite the ridiculous start for the Wildcats, they lay a single point in this matchup, pushing the Gators to plus money as an underdog. Looking a little deeper, it’s rather clear the Wildcats beat up on cupcake squads, as none of the four teams have a winning record. The Gators are going to have to tighten up some play to look like the team that knocked off Tennessee, but they do have a couple of numbers working in their favor. Head coach Billy Napier is 11-2 against the spread as a conference dog, including 7-0 straight up against the spread if that line is 5 points or less. Kentucky is just 3-7 against the spread in its last 10 games of conference revenge. Things just seem to add up for a Gators win.

Week 5 Parlay Pick: Illinois-Purdue

Don’t be fooled by the Illini sitting at 2-2, or even worse, their 0-4 against-the-spread record. Illinois has been bit hard by the turnover bug, which should start to regress to the mean this week. Bret Bielema has his work cut out, but it’s a familiar spot for the Illinois coach — especially as he’s seeking revenge from last year’s loss to the Boilermakers. Speaking of which, Bielema is 13-6 against the spread on the road while looking for revenge, including 5-0 against the spread since taking over at Illinois. Purdue is a brutal 1-6 against the spread over its last seven games as a favorite against a team seeking revenge. Purdue is also awful at home, going just 0-3 straight up this year. One more haymaker that is working against Ryan Walters and his Boilermakers; Purdue is 0-12 against the spread as a conference favorite laying 18 or fewer points. While Walters is brand new and comes from Illinois, he doesn’t have the talent nor coaching chops (yet) to reverse bad history.

CFB Parlay Pick: Illinois -110

Week 5 Parlay Pick: Syracuse-Clemson

Things are not going according to plan for Dabo Swinney, and they are about to get really tough for Syracuse coach Dino Babers. The former is overseeing a season with two early losses and possibly a third coming this Saturday. The latter is about to embark on a three-game set against two ranked teams in conference that starts with hosting the Tigers. For the first time since 2010, Clemson finds itself down 0-2 in conference and will be super tight this weekend on the road. Combine that with losing a game last week to Florida State after leading for the entire contest, and it’s about to be lights out for Clemson. Taking the points in the parlay is the smarter play, as Syracuse and Babers are still being disrespected by this line nearly at 7 points. Syracuse has actually covered five of the last six spreads against Clemson and has momentum following a huge comeback win last week against Army. Some of it is competition, but Syracuse has one of the best scoring offenses and red zone defenses in the country. Battle tested and looking to effectively end Clemson’s season — two good reasons to ride Syracuse.

CFB Parlay Pick: Syracuse +6.5 (-105)
