CFB Week 6 Parlay Pick: Alabama-Texas A&M

Normally it takes a lot longer in the season for a team to put the final nail in Alabama’s coffin, all while creating a pathway to the playoffs. However, in just the 6th week of the year, the Aggies find themselves in that very spot. Texas A&M at home hasn’t been easy for Nick Saban and the Tide, as Bama lost two years ago on a last minute field goal.

The talent gap is arguably even more narrow this time around as the Aggies should be up to the task. The QB situation looked in jeopardy with Connor Weigman out due to an injury, but Jimbo Fisher should have plenty to work with alongside backup Max Johnson. The two coaches clearly despise each other or play it out perfectly in the public arena. College football still has a small edge with kids playing for coaches, especially in a rivalry game. Nick Saban’s comments last offseason about Fisher “buying every player” will still linger in the Aggies locker room.

Alabama’s defense is much improved since Texas destroyed them, but so is A&M on that side of the ball. The Aggies survived three turnovers last week and pulled away from Arkansas in the second half. The biggest reason why people are fading the Aggies isn’t even with Bama so much as the defenses that A&M already torched. If anything, the Aggies are primed and pumped up – not to mention a nice revenge game for the L that Bama handed them last year.

CFB Week 6 Parlay Pick: Colorado-Arizona State

Deion Sanders has certainly taken the college football world by storm, weathering both injury and the tough stretch of their schedule in the process. Sure, Sanders was never going to win some of these games but the hype started to feel real. It still is despite some key injuries which helps bring this line down a little against Arizona State. The good news for the Sun Devils is the Buffaloes do most of their work – basically all – in the second half of their games. It’s actually amazing to see them still in football games even though they’ve been outscored 90-28 in the first halves this season. Sure, they held USC to under 500 total yards for the only time so far this year, but Arizona State gives up nearly 150 yards fewer per game and is 13-4 ATS as a home dog coming off a loss. Coach Prime’s squad is absolutely worth the price of admission, but feel free to show up casually late as they do their best in the second act.
