CFB Week 7 Parlay: Auburn-LSU & Miami-North Carolina (October 14)

Parlay season is upon us. The college football season hits its seventh full slate and playoff implications are still major for a couple of teams, but staying alive seems to be the theme this week. Be it revenge or spoiler, there’s a little extra motivation this week for two dogs — both playing away from home. There’s a ton of value on the big board with so many games this week, but this parlay focuses solely on two teams in desperate need of a win — including one team that can’t shake off last week’s results fast enough. Let’s get into the top CFB Week 7 parlay.

CFB Week 7 Parlay Pick: Auburn-LSU

It’s a double whammy spot for the Auburn Tigers as they head to Death Valley to battle the other Tigers. LSU is holding on to the back end of a top-25 ranking, whereas Auburn is trying to salvage a difficult start to the year at 3-2. Despite losing 21-17 at home last year, Auburn outperformed LSU in the box. Auburn lost or replaced a bunch of starters on offense, but there are some key players on defense that returned with revenge on the mind. At the very least, Hugh Freeze is using this as extra motivation to correct any mistakes from last year, as he wasn’t even on the sidelines for the loss.

Unlike the NFL, beating LSU, especially after losing the year before, is still a big thing at Auburn, so expect that to be the topic all week. There’s a first time for everything, and Freeze is 0-3 lifetime at LSU’s stadium, but he boasts a 29-12 against-the-spread record as a dog. LSU is 0-4 against the spread the last four in this series, so taking the points helps in this parlay. LSU needed a huge comeback last week to eventually beat Missouri, and the Tigers defense has been nonexistent over the past three games. Auburn can serve up a cold dish of revenge by torching an already beaten-up defense while relying on its own top-25 unit to slow down Jayden Daniels and the LSU offense.

CFB Week 7 Parlay Pick: Miami-North Carolina

Mack Brown is dancing and has them believing in Chapel Hill! The 12th-ranked Tar Heels will host a Miami Hurricanes team coming off one of the worst losses in its  history of the regular season. The Georgia Tech debacle is in the rearview mirror, but there’s still concern about Mario Cristobal as a head coach. That is understandable, especially after the way in which last week went down. But that’s just it: The Hurricanes still out-gained Tech by over 270 yards and played fine despite the ending.

This hasn’t been a great spot historically for North Carolina, as it is 3-7 against the spread in the second of three straight home games and has fallen short when coming off a conference home game. Mack Brown will need to channel James Brown to dance his way out of a brutal 1-14 record against the spread following a conference home game — including a disastrous 0-7 against-the-spread record as the favorite. Maybe it’s the 5-0 record, maybe it’s the hype, maybe it’s the music just a little too loud — but North Carolina is in major jeopardy of losing this game outright. For now, we take the points and the hook.
