Latest Quinn Ewers Injury Update (10/26/23 at 2:40 PM): Quinn Ewers is OUT on Saturday for the Texas-BYU game, per The Athletic
Ewers was enjoying a great sophomore season, throwing for 1,900 yards, 13 touchdowns, and achieving a 70% completion rating. He also has five rushing touchdowns and is on pace to surpass his numbers from last year. Texas is currently ranked No. 7 in the country with a 6-1 record.
With Ewers out, Freshman Maalik Murphy will get the start against BYU. Murphy came in relief for Ewers last week and attempted two passes. He has nine career pass attempts. Murphy is unproven and likely not as good as Ewers yet, but with Texas having so many talented skill players, it may not matter against an inferior BYU squad that allows 396.5 total yards per game.
The lines opened with Texas as 17-point favorites over BYU and have since moved up to 18.5. The game total is set to 50 points. You can monitor the line and find the best odds to bet here.
