Boston College is waiting no more. The Thomas Castellanos era is officially, well, official. The latest has the dual-threat QB starting against Holy Cross on Saturday. This is according to multiple reports, though it does look like ESPN’s Pete Thamel had it first.

The UCF transfer came off the sidelines last weekend to help Boston College score 21 points after originally being down a bunch, forcing Northern Illinois to overtime. Unfortunately for BC, it wasn’t enough, as they still took the loss.
After taking over last week, Thomas Castellanos hurled the pigskin for 138 yards and two touchdowns. Moreover, he rushed it for 67 yards and yet another score. It is worth noting he barely played for UCF last season, but did impress BC coaches in camp with his ability to be a dynamic playmaker.
This is relatively good news, depending what colored lens you want to view this through, as BC will be without running back Alex Broome for Holy Cross. While an insanely small sample-size of five carries last week, Broome averaged 4.6 yards per carry in the loss to Norther Illinois.
As for Castellanos, it’ll be interesting to see how he handles Holy Cross in a full game, especially following a more than solid performance — albeit in a loss to Northern Illinois. Holy Cross-Boston College is set to kick at noon. The game will air on ESPN+ for those interested in seeing how Thomas Castellanos performs. If nothing else, it should be entertaining. DraftKings Sportsbook has Boston College as 10 point favorites.
