Underdog Fantasy Pick’em Predictions Today: CFB Week 9 | Saturday, Oct. 26

The college football landscape typically takes a turn around Week 9 where we see a handful of contenders step away from the remaining pack. With the expansion of the playoff format comes a more forgiving set of criteria, specifically two losses are no longer a death sentence. There is some value across the board this weekend at Underdog with a team hoping to stay consistent with a backup quarterback and another well-known school that’s gone completely off the rails. Here are your top two Underdog Fantasy pick’em predictions!

Tayven Jackson H/L Than 1.5 Passing Touchdowns

Things were going as well as can be for the Indiana Hoosiers, including a ridiculously fast start to a currently undefeated season. That is until starting quarterback Kurtis Rourke went down with a thumb injury in a blowout of Nebraska. Rourke is out, in comes Tayven Jackson — who has played this role before. Jackson had little issue replacing Rourke last game, and the offense looked fine under his control. The Hoosiers actually have time to prepare with Jackson, and the game plan will be catered to his skill set more than it was for Rourke.

Washington isn’t great either. It is 4-3 on the year with two bad road losses to Iowa and Rutgers. This is not a team with any returning stability, and it’s yet to see how Jedd Fisch rights this train — if at all. It hasn’t had the track record, at least on the road, in figuring things out and will have to before it hits the 13th-ranked Hoosiers’ home.

I like Jackson to continue to move the ball in the air as head coach Curt Cignetti and the staff won’t ask anything crazy. But they will demand pressure put on a suspect Huskies defense without much prior foundation of returning players.

It’s been a special start to the season for the Hoosiers, and they look to push this through the final stretch. We expect them to compete each week when healthy, but they are good enough to rely on Jackson here for two touchdowns.

Jaxson Dart H/L Than 2.0 Passing Touchdowns

If the Huskies are on life support, then the Sooners are dead and buried. Things are just impossible for Oklahoma, as the rails are off and the train is cooked. A heavy home favorite, Ole Miss stands to obliterate Oklahoma — as it has been the past two games. The Sooners have been lit up 69-12 in their two recent losses to Texas prior to getting hammered by South Carolina.

The offense is humming in Mississippi thanks to Jaxson Dart, and little should change this weekend. The Rebels allow nothing on the ground while destroying teams in the air. The suffocation of their defense combined with the air raid led by Dart will be too overwhelming for Oklahoma. That’s the obvious game script that leads Dart to an easy cash as the Rebels build a lead.

The other side of this is somehow, some way, the Sooners find life. In the small percentage that Oklahoma’s offense finds a pulse, it’s the only way it can stay in the game. That only pushes Lane Kiffin to dial up more plays in the air in the end zone. Maybe it’s beating up an old guard or simply taking advantage of a big name while it’s down, but we expect a slaughter with Dart netting at least three passing scores.
