Fresh off a top-five finish at the Sentry Tournament of Champions, Tom Kim enters as the betting favorite for the 2023 Sony Open. That’s not a surprise, but Brian Harman shooting up oddsboards ahead of Jordan Spieth and Hideki Matsuyama might be.
Kim is 12-1 to win in Hawaii this week, according to odds posted at DraftKings. He is a smidge ahead of Sungjae Im (14-1) and Harman (14-1), who owns two wins on the PGA TOUR but none since 2017.
Spieth (16-1) and Matsuyama (18-1) are the only other players at DraftKings with odds shorter than 20-1.
Harman ended the calendar year on a high, with back-to-back runner-up finishes in November. He finished T-16 last week at the Tournament of Champions. As you can see below, Harman opened at 18-1 but has since moved to his price as of Monday night of 14-1.

Matsuyama is the defending champion of the event after taking down Russell Henley in a playoff. His remarkable back-9 on Sunday was enough to chase down Henley, and if you've watched golf since then, you've surely seen the highlights of his eagle in the playoff.
Neither Matsuyama nor Henley were all that impressive last week, but it's notable that they played entering this week and won't be as 'rusty' from competition as some of the others in this field.
JJ Spaun gave Collin Morikawa a run for three days in the Sentry ToC and is 40-1 this week, ahead of former winners Matt Kuchar and Gary Woodland and the same price as Cam Davis.
