Bet365 the Top Sportsbook for Young American Bettors

Bet365‘s move into the U.S. took a few years to really get going after the Supreme Court overturned PASPA in 2018. However, now the UK-based sportsbook is active in 10 states across the country, and per a survey from YouGov, bet365 is now the No. 1 sportsbook in the United States for sports bettors between the ages of 21 and 34 — ahead of DraftKings and FanDuel.

YouGov asked over 2,000 bettors in the United States what their go-to sportsbook was when they first got into betting. Though DraftKings was the most-used sportsbook overall, grabbing 35% of the responses to FanDuel’s 32% and bet365’s 28%, bet365 was No. 1 for the 21 to 34 bracket, with 40% of respondents saying they used bet365 in the last month. DraftKings and FanDuel were second and third at 31% and 29%, respectively.

Additionally, 60% of those who started out using bet365 said they now use the app more than when they started, while only 11% said they use it less. That was also the largest uptick among sportsbooks.

Bet365 was the top performing book for 21- to 24-year-olds as well, commanding 31% of responses and beating out DraftKings and FanDuel by 6 and 9 percentage points.

While bet365 seems to earn more of bettors’ business the longer they use the app, some top sportsbooks performed quite poorly in this regard. Most notable was FanDuel, who saw 23% of respondents say they use the app less than they used to. BetMGM was also at 23%, but Caesars Sportsbook had the worst results, with a whopping 34% saying they use it less than they used to.

There was more good news for ESPN BET as well. A survey earlier this month showed that sports bettors were eager to see ESPN integrate its sportsbook more with its sports coverage, and this report has ESPN BET as the fifth-most used sportsbook, trailing only the Big 2 plus bet365 and BetMGM. That means ESPN BET has overtaken Caesars — not good results for that brand here.
