BetMGM Now Providing Sports Betting Odds and Information for Associated Press

When you want sports betting odds and information you can trust, there’s only one place you should turn to now — at least, according to the Associated Press. As of last week, BetMGM is now the sportsbook officially providing odds for Associated Press stories, supplanting FanDuel, who had been AP’s odds provider for three years.

This means that, any time you see game odds, betting trends or player props in an Associated Press article — game previews, news stories, etc. — BetMGM will be the source. For example, an AP article ahead of Celtics-Pacers Game 4 on Monday lists a few betting trends from the NBA Conference Finals:

  • Overs have hit in all six games of the third round of the NBA playoffs.
  • 84% of bets and 83% of handle was on the over for Sunday’s Timberwolves-Mavericks Game 3.

Those reports come from BetMGM.

It doesn’t seem that there was any falling out between FanDuel and AP; it was more a matter of BetMGM‘s explicit move to integrating its product with different spaces.

BetMGM has made moves into quite a few high-profile spaces as a primary odds provider. For example, it has partnered with X and Buffalo Wild Wings to display live betting odds on sports. Plus, BetMGM is one of the most open sportsbooks when it comes to providing betting insights into bettor behavior at its sportsbook, so it makes sense that a respected journalism outlet like the Associated Press would turn to BetMGM.

That said, AP will still have full editorial control over articles containing BetMGM data and betting information.
