The Kentucky Derby — the one time of year where a bunch of rich people in silly hats decide horse waste and dirt make for a lavish environment and that mint julips don’t, in fact, taste like brushing your teeth during a morning hangover. And if for some reason you can’t make it out to Churchill Downs, there’s still a great opportunity to have a blast with the Kentucky Derby, and it’s all thanks to Caesars Racebook. Ahead of the big race, Caesars has a fantastic Kentucky Derby promo: 100% deposit matchup up to $150!

No. 9 Encino has been scratched, so the field is down to 20 horses. The favorite is Fierceness at 5-2, followed by Sierra Leone at 3-1 and Catching Freedom at 8-1.
Fierceness is coming off a Florida Derby win at the end of March that saw him win by 13.5 lengths. Plus, with a two-time winning trainer in Todd Pletcher (Super Saver in 2021, Always Dreaming in 2017) and a three-time winning jockey in John Velazquez, Fierceness is looking to be in good shape to come home first.
For a longer shot, look at Mystik Dan if for no other reason than he seems to be the long-lost, mysterious descendant of the great Lucky Dan (all my fellow fans of the 1973 classic The Sting know what’s up).
