Damar Hamlin Massive Favorite to Win NFL Comeback Player of the Year

While every sane person should be rooting for it anyway, according to DraftKings, Damar Hamlin is the favorite to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year at -650. Right behind at +2500 are Lamar Jackson, Matthew Stafford, Russell Wilson and Trey Lance.

Last season, Hamlin collapsed on the field during a game, which led to concerns about his health and whether he would ever play again. Fortunately, he was able to recover and is set to return to the field. His resilience and determination have been an inspiration to his teammates and fans alike.

Obviously, at -650 Damar Hamlin is a massive favorite to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year. While a lot of this is likely due to sentimental reasons, sportsbooks know people will want to toss money on this, as only evil people would be rooting for anything other than a wildly successful return to the gridiron.

And, yes, I wrote gridiron without a shade of irony.

As Hamlin continues to make headlines, some of the league’s biggest stars are also in the running for the same award. Russell Wilson, Trey Lance, Matthew Stafford, and Lamar Jackson are all listed at +2500 odds to win the award, but it’s Hamlin who is the clear favorite at -650. Plus, Russell Wilson is boring… so?

With the NFL season approaching quicker than a hiccup, plenty of eyes are starting to turn to the league, especially as rumors and news of the Washington Commanders potentially getting sold gain momentum — not to mention awards odds being presented to the public.

Nothing like some futures to start some early sweats for the violence played on blades of grass.

Nevertheless, Damar Hamlin positioned as the tippy-top favorite to win NFL Comeback Player of the Year comes as zero shock, especially since a lot of people assume — rightfully — he’ll be positioned to win the award even if his impact on the field is minimal, as the story alone is enough to win some hearts and minds.
