Jon Rahm Masters Bets: Bettors Cash on PGA Star’s First Green Jacket
Per BetMGM, Rahm opened as a high +1200 underdog to win The Masters. Those odds moved to +900 just before the tournament began. Rahm was not initially among the top 3 most bet players to win the Masters but that changed over the course of the weekend.
BetMGM data analyst John Ewing reported that Rahm (8.7% of bets) was the most-bet-on player to win the Masters throughout the weekend. He was +333 after the first round, +150 after the second round and +175 following the third round on Sunday morning.
Rahm was behind Koepka by two strokes heading into the fourth round but showed off incredible poise and shot-making ability to run away with the tournament on the back nine.
This is Rahm’s first Masters win and his second major victory. He won the U.S. Open Tournament in 2021, and now joins the legendary Seve Ballesteros as the only two players from Spain ever to win two majors.
It was quite a different experience for Brooks Koepka, who entered the last round as the betting favorite to win the Masters. Koepka has four major wins under his belt, but none since 2019, and has yet to win the Green Jacket. He struggled towards the end of his PGA run with injuries and inconsistent play before making the controversial decision to join LIV Golf last year.
The Koepka-Rahm duel on Sunday provided a ton of entertainment and likely leaves a sour taste in Koepka’s mouth. The next chance for him to get some revenge on Rahm and other PGA stars will come at next month’s PGA Championship. Rahm (+800) has taken over as the favorite at the event after capturing the Masters victory.
