Sports betting is launching just in time in North Carolina — you Tarheel State residents will be able to bet on sports starting March 11, and the ACC Basketball Tournament will begin on March 12. That’s great news considering chances are good you are a fan of one of the four North Carolina-based teams in that conference. Now you may be asking, where can I make these bets on college basketball, or the NBA, or any other sport I may want? That’s where we come in; we’re going to break down all of the sportsbooks expected to go live in North Carolina on March 11 — plus any promos or bonuses we know they will have.
What Sportsbooks & Sports Betting Apps Will Be Available in North Carolina?
Per state legislation, North Carolina can give licenses to up to 12 online sportsbooks. As of now, these are the operators that are confirmed to be going live in the state:

- DraftKings

- FanDuel
- Underdog Sports
Most of these sportsbook have deals with sports leagues and/or teams in North Carolina, which we will break down below.
Bet365 North Carolina
Bet365 got its foot in the door in North Carolina by partnering with the Charlotte Hornets in late 2023. It does not have a confirmed promotion for new North Carolina signups as of yet, but bet365 is one of the biggest international operators out there, and North Carolina is now the 10th state to welcome the sportsbook. BetMGM North Carolina
BetMGM does not have a deal with any teams or professional leagues at the moment, but it does have the honor of sponsoring one of the biggest racetracks in the United States: Charlotte Motor Speedway. That gives BetMGM the in with a venue that hosts some of the most significant races on the calendar. Again, we do not have any bonuses officially announced yet, so keep an eye out for updates.

DraftKings North Carolina
While Caesars has the deal with Charlotte Motor Speedway, DraftKings has partnered with NASCAR as a whole for the North Carolina sports betting launch. The two will be prominently featured at North Carolina racing events going forward, and it’s safe to assume DraftKings will have a generous welcome offer ready for pre-registration as well.

FanDuel North Carolina
Unsurprisingly, FanDuel — the No. 1 Sportsbook in the United States — has the biggest partnership, as they have teamed with the PGA Tour for North Carolina’s sports betting launch. FanDuel has probably the best app in the business, and it is also the only NC sportsbook with a confirmed welcome offer — find out when you pre-register.
Caesars Sportsbook North Carolina
Caesars also does not officially have a partnership with a professional sports league in North Carolina. It does, however, have agreements in place with Harrah’s Cherokee Hotel and Casino and Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Hotel and Casino, giving it two retail locations on top of its online sportsbook. Though Caesars does not have a NC-specific new customer promo in place yet, it is known to have one of the best rewards programs in the industry, which will make it an attractive option for North Carolinians no matter what their welcome bonus is.
ESPN BET North Carolina
The newest addition to the major sportsbook industry, ESPN BET has entered the North Carolina betting game via a deal with the PGA’s Wells Fargo Championship, which will be held in May at Quail Hollow Golf Club in Charlotte. ESPN BET’s pre-registration offer is still to be announced.
Fanatics North Carolina
Fanatics is another new sportsbook that launched in mid-2023 and has expanded quite rapidly to a number of states. Its deal in North Carolina is one of the most lucrative, as Fanatics has joined forces with the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes. The biggest appeal of Fanatics Sportsbook is the interlinking of the sportsbook and apparel store via FanCash, which you earn by placing bets and can convert to bonus bets or use to buy merchandise at the Fanatics store.
Underdog Sports
Underdog Fantasy’s sportsbook product, Underdog Sports, will officially launch with sports betting in North Carolina. We don’t have a lot of details on what the Underdog Sports app or sportsbook will look like, but if it’s anything like the Underdog Fantasy product, it should be a fun and user-friendly experience for North Carolina bettors.
