Earlier in the week, sportsbooks dropped Richardson’s odds from over/under 4.5 draft position to over/under 7.5 when the Will Levis buzz picked up. Now, though, Richardson is back to being at over/under 4.5, with the over juiced to -130 (on DraftKings).
A large reason for the betting action is based on a couple of different reports on Twitter that Richardson is being considered by quarterback-needy teams with a top pick. Sports agent Brett Tessler claims Richardson will be picked a whole lot earlier than anyone expects.

Not only did the draft position prop change for Richardson, but his odds to be selected first overall are now up to +5000 (DraftKings Sportsbook). He is the favorite (+100) to go fourth overall to the Indianapolis Colts. Levis had been the favorite to become the next Colts quarterback prior to Thursday morning.
It is likely that Richardson possesses the most pure talent of any player in the draft, wowing college football fans with a series of jaw-dropping throws and runs throughout this past season. But he also needs some time to mature into an NFL-level passer, which was evident by his 53.8% completion percentage in 2022.
The 20-year-old was able to put on a show at both his pro day and the NFL Combine, showing teams that he has the star power to fit in a modern NFL system.
In what has been deemed a weak quarterback draft by most analysts, taking a chance on a guy like Richardson could make a lot of sense for a team looking to develop a high-ceiling prospect.
