Best PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Jerome Ford Drives Home the Win (Dec. 28)

Welcome to the Best PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions for Thursday Night Football. Tonight’s showdown features the 6-9 Jets visiting the 10-5 Browns. The Browns offense has had a recent spark behind quarterback Joe Flacco who’s led the team to three straight victories and put them in position to clinch a playoff spot with a win tonight. With Trevor Siemian starting for New York, the Browns are favored by 7.5 points while the game has a 33.5 total. Let’s start tonight’s PrizePicks card with Jerome Ford.

Selecting the right projections may be challenging, but with the assistance of OddsShopper’s NFL PrizePicks Optimizer and thorough research, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive into the best PrizePicks NFL picks and player projections for December 28.

PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Picks for Jerome Ford & More

Jerome Ford M/L 12.5 Rushing Attempts

Another tough matchup for quarterbacks; the Jets’ defense really forces teams to run the ball. In fact, they allow the third-most rushing attempts and the fifth-most rushing yards to running backs on the season. We’ve seen Kareem Hunt get mixed in the run game from time to time, but Jerome Ford is the bell cow on this offense and leads today’s card.

Ford is averaging 12.6 attempts per game and leads the Browns with 743 rushing yards on the season. Taking a look at OddsShopper’s Positive EV Bets tool, the odds are pretty even across the board for this projection and range from -110 to -122 on the over. I’m going with the numbers here and say the Browns will run the ball a good amount tonight as heavy favorites at home in a low-total game.

Best PrizePicks NFL Player Prediction: Jerome Ford More Than 12.5 Rushing Attempts

David Njoku, M/L 12.5 Fantasy Score

David Njoku has been Mr. Reliable since Joe Flacco took over at quarterback. In four games with Flacco, Njoku is averaging 6.0 receptions on 9.3 targets and 64 receiving yards. He’s also caught four touchdowns in his last three games. Amari Cooper is banged up after his record-setting display last week and is questionable to play. Assuming he’s in, it will take some eyes off Njoku and free him up over the middle.

The Jets have a really good defense and allow the fewest fantasy points to opposing quarterbacks in the NFL; however, they are middle of the pack against tight ends, allowing 12.1 fantasy points per game. The team total for Cleveland is just 20.75 points, but as 7.5 favorites, they’ll need offense to come from somewhere. David Njoku is that guy tonight.

Breece Hall M/L 15 Fantasy Score

Breece Hall has been a human highlight at times this season and has outshined teammate Garrett Wilson due to the poor quarterback play from the Jets. Hall has gone over 15 fantasy points in half of his games and went nuclear last week against Washington, recording 43.1 fantasy points. The Browns rank ninth in the NFL against running backs, allowing just 19.2 fantasy points per game. On a big slate, I likely would not be targeting Hall, but in tonight’s game, he’s the best of the bad options for the Jets.

Cleveland does give up some stats to running backs, but they don’t give up much in the passing game. They rank in the top three against quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends. We should see Trevor Siemian rely on Hall a lot tonight, and with full PPR scoring on PrizePicks, Hall gets more than 15 fantasy points tonight.
