Best PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Michael Pittman Jr. a Top Target (Jan. 6)

We have reached Week 18 of the NFL season, which brings us some Saturday football. There are two games on the docket today, including Steelers-Ravens and Texans-Colts. The Steelers, Texans, and Colts all sit at 9-7 and have a shot at the last playoff spot in the AFC, so we’ll see those teams attempt to win today’s games. Meanwhile, the Ravens have clinched the top seed in the AFC and will be resting a number of starters. Michael Pittman Jr. will kick off Saturday’s PrizePicks NFL card.

Selecting the right projections may be challenging, but with the assistance of OddsShopper’s NFL PrizePicks Optimizer and thorough research, we’ve got you covered. Let’s dive into the best PrizePicks NFL picks and player projections for January 6.

PrizePicks NFL Player Predictions: Michael Pittman Jr. & More

Michael Pittman Jr. M/L 7 Receptions

Michael Pittman Jr. has been a favorite target for Gardner Minshew all season. Pittman ranks ninth in targets and sixth in receptions with 104 on the season. He’s recorded 8 or more receptions in 11 of 16 games so far, looking to make it 12 in a game the Colts need to win. The good news is he gets a favorable matchup against the Texans, who rank 20th in yards allowed to wide receivers. We saw the Texans get torched by Joe Flacco and Amari Cooper just two weeks ago, which has put them 26th in the rankings for passing yards allowed.

If we take a look at OddsShopper’s Positive EV Bets tool, we see that this projection is listed as 7.5 at some books, giving us a slight edge on more than one PrizePicks. This game has the second-highest total for Week 18, and I think we’ll see Pittman get his as the best offensive player on the Colts.

Best PrizePicks NFL Player Prediction: Michael Pittman More Than 7 Receptions

Devin Singletary M/L 12.5 Fantasy Score

Devin Singletary is averaging a hair under 10 fantasy points per game on the season. Even with Dameon Pierce back in action, this is Singletary’s backfield, as he out-snapped Pierce 38 to 12 last week. The Texans are 1.5-point road favorites with a 47.5 game total in Indianapolis. The Colts defense has had some big games the past few weeks, but they give it up to running backs, allowing the third-most fantasy points to the position. A big reason for that is ranking bottom five in receptions and receiving yards allowed to the position.

Singletary has been a solid runner since Week 6 but has really come on the past few weeks in the passing game. Averaging 2.25 targets per game this year, he’s recorded 3, 3, and 4 receptions in his last three games. For an added bonus here, Singletary has an incentive payout of $125,000 if he reaches 1,000 rushing yards. He’s currently at 834, so he’ll need a massive game of 166 yards, but it’s not out of the realm as he did rush for 150 yards in Week 10. With CJ Stroud healthy at quarterback, a high game total, and a great matchup, more is the play.

Tyler Huntley M/L 163.5 Passing Yards

Tyler Huntley will get the start for the Ravens as Lamar Jackson rests after his MVP caliber season. Huntley has started eight games for the Ravens in his career and has averaged 155.4 passing yards in those games. He’s played sparingly this season, completing just six passes for 57 yards. He’s going to have a tough time today against a Steelers defense that is pretty familiar with him. In Week 16 last year, Huntley completed 14 of 21 passes for 130 yards en route to a Ravens loss to the Steelers 16-13.

The books have this projection ranging from 158.5 to 162.5, so we are getting good value on less than on PrizePicks. Huntley won’t have too many weapons to throw to today, with Zay Flowers doubtful to play and Odell Beckham Jr. already ruled out. Word is it’s very wet in Baltimore with some wind, so this could be a messy game with limited success through the air for Huntley. With a low total of 34.5 in a division rivalry, we shouldn’t expect offensive fireworks in this one.
