The Philadelphia Eagles dominated their opponents in the opening two rounds of the playoffs. They easily dispatched the New York Giants and San Francisco 49ers by double-digit margins, largely because of their effective pass rush. The Eagles rank second in pressure percentage (25.5%), behind only the Dallas Cowboys. They also lead the NFL in sacks (70).
However, the Eagles often give up rushing yards to opposing quarterbacks who can scramble away from pressure. Daniel Jones ran six times for 24 yards in the Divisional Round. Although neither Brock Purdy nor Josh Johnson did much damage on the ground in the NFC Championship, they also didn’t get much playing time. The Eagles allowed the fourth-most rushing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks this season (26.4), including a 41-yard performance by Dak Prescott and a 34-yard performance from Ryan Tannehill.

Although Patrick Mahomes suffered a high ankle sprain against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he has had plenty of time to rehab the injury. Mahomes has fully participated in Kansas City’s practices so far and has told the press that his ankle will be “ready” for the Super Bowl. Mahomes still ran for eight yards against the Cincinnati Bengals two weeks ago and should easily scamper for another 20 when pressured this Sunday.
