There have been rumors swirling around Derek Carr since he was benched by the Raiders for the final two games of the season. The team elected to go with third year backup Jarrett Stidham over Carr, causing many to speculate that the organization was ready to move in a different direction.
That news came to a head last week when Ian Rappaport reported that the team would begin “…evaluating the the trade market for QB Derek Carr…”
The signal caller — who had been with the organization for nine seasons — confirmed the news with a tweet of his own thanking Raiders fans.
Sources: The #Raiders will begin the process of evaluating the trade market for QB Derek Carr, as they prepare for a decision on their QB for the future. This points to the possibility of Carr, who holds a no-trade clause and will be part of the process, leaving the organization. pic.twitter.com/zvZvGv8cQ5

According to DraftKings, the New York Jets are the frontrunners to land Carr (+400). They are followed closely by the Indianapolis Colts (+425). Several other teams in need of QBs round out the top-5 possible destinations.
Carr is not the only veteran likely to be moved by his team this offseason. DeAndre Hopkins is expected to be traded by the Cardinals making him another big name available via trade.
DeAndre Hopkins Also on the Move
Hopkins and the Cardinals had a difficult season, finishing 4-13, good for last place in the NFC West. They were 11-6 the previous year after starting the season on a 7-0 run and finishing it with a playoff berth.
This season got off to a rocky start for the Cardinals. Hopkins missed the first six games due to suspension after violating the NFL’s performance enhancing drugs policy. The Cardinals went 2-4 during that stretch, but would win their first game after Hopkins returned, 42-34 over the New Orleans Saints.
The win was the second to last all year for the team. Things got worse when starting quarterback Kyler Murray went down to an injury a week after Hopkins returned.
The downfall resulted in the firing of head coach Kliff Kingsbury at the conclusion of the season.
Moving on from Kingsbury and Hopkins is leaving uncertainty in the desert. However, it is opening room for bettors to speculate on where DeAndre Hopkins will end up next and to find value in this NFL futures market.
