Ohio State quarterback C.J. Stroud made sure to keep fans on their toes all week long before finally declaring for the NFL Draft on Monday morning.
“The process has been difficult,” Stroud said in his Twitter announcement, “and the decision one of the hardest I’ve ever had to make. As a kid, I dreamed of playing football at the highest level and after much prayer, I’ve made the decision that it’s time to turn those dreams into a reality.”
The Ohio State quarterback has been listed among the favorites to be selected first overall in the draft, and those odds moved slightly following the last-minute announcement. Check out the latest C.J. Stroud NFL Draft odds below:

Stroud will leave Ohio State with some left to be desired. He never won “The Game” against bitter rival Michigan. And he came up just short in the thrilling loss to Georgia in the CFP semifinals this season.
“People are going to say I never won The Game, and I understand,” Stroud told reporters after this year’s Michigan loss, per ESPN. “People are going to say I never won a Big Ten championship. I understand. When it comes to that, I just have to eat it.”
The dual-threat quarterback still showed out throughout his two seasons with the Buckeyes, throwing for 8,123 yards and 85 touchdowns, completing 69.3% of his passes. He won the Big Ten’s Offensive Player and Quarterback of the Year in both 2021 and 2022. He’ll finish second in Ohio State history in career passing yards and passing touchdowns.
Ohio State may not have reached its goals during the quarterback’s tenure, but the C.J. Stroud NFL Draft odds reflect that a bright future awaits the 21-year-old.
