Chargers-Jets Player Props & Anytime Touchdown Bet for Monday (Nov. 6)

We’ve been blessed with the Chargers and Jets on primetime quite often this season. For the average NFL fan, that must be terrible. Nonetheless, we have plenty of player prop bets to go over. Let’s dive into the best Chargers-Jets player prop picks and anytime touchdown scorer bets for Week 9’s edition of Monday Night Football.

Chargers-Jets Player Prop

A healthy Breece Hall is good for football. Coming off an ACL injury he sustained last season, Hall has not missed a step — especially since being ramped up. In his last five games, Hall is averaging 95.2 rushing + receiving yards per game. A 194-yard game three weeks ago helped, but he’s totaled back-to-back games of 93 yards against two NFC East foes, the Eagles and Giants. The game script will dictate this player prop, as many presume the Jets to be trailing at home against the Chargers. So we will side with Breece Hall over 17.5 receiving yards on BetMGM — a +EV spot according to OddsShopper’s tools.

When the Jets acquired Dalvin Cook in the offseason via free agency, many spectacled that Hall and Cook would share a backfield — for good reason, as Hall was coming off a significant knee injury and Cook had one of the best resumes in football from the running back position. After Week 1, where Cook took 50% of the snaps, it’s been downhill for the veteran. Last week, after the Jets bye week, Cook saw a season low in snaps, while Hall took 64%. Even third-down back Michael Carter saw more opportunities than Cook. It doesn’t help that Cook has been one of the least efficient backs in football. He’s averaging 2.8 yards per carry and has failed to reach the end zone this season. Books continue not to post Cook player props, as his role has nearly dwindled away. This leaves Hall to receive all the work on first and second down in what we hope is a negative game script for the Jets.

Hall is coming off a season-high nine targets against the Giants in a game it seemed nobody wanted to win. He reeled in a checkdown in the first quarter that he took 50 yards to the house and scored the game’s first touchdown. The game before the Jets’ bye week, Hall was targeted another five times and racked up 54 yards. Now he gets a Chargers defense that surrendered 80-plus yards through the air to Tony Pollard on Monday Night Football, a prop that we were on that week, and 81 the week before to Josh Jacobs.

Chargers-Jets Anytime Touchdown Scorer

In a game that features a total of 39.5, we will have slim pickings on an anytime touchdown scorer. But that means we’re getting great odds on almost every player on Monday Night Football. If you shop around using OddsShopper’s NFL tools, you can find every player for this game at plus money. That includes running back Austin Ekeler, who led the NFL in touchdowns last season. He can be found at +110 on Caesars Sportsbook if you want to go that route. Instead, we’ll turn to Jets wide receiver Garrett Wilson.

I won’t lie, the Jets secondary scared me off of betting on any Chargers receivers. They’ve allowed just one touchdown to a wide receiver through eight games. Is Keenan Allen one of the most talented receivers in the game? Of course. But Wilson being listed at +195 on FanDuel as more than field goal underdogs is the better bet. He hasn’t scored since Week 2 but has been targeted 12 times in the red zone, top 10 in all of football. Unlike the Jets, the Chargers secondary is one that receivers can feast on. They’ve surrendered the third0most touchdowns to the wide receiver position in the league in just seven games. Lock in Wilson as your top touchdown bet in Chargers-Jets on Monday Night Football.
