Chiefs-Jets Parlay: Three-Leg SGP Sunday Night Football (October 1)

The return of Aaron Rodgers to the Jets sideline will be dwarfed tonight by Jason Kelce’s special guest. While the over/under for Taylor Swift sightings might near double-digits, that’s about how bad the Chiefs should handle the Jets. Sunday Night Football at MetLife stadium certainly has a different feel than before the start of the season. Here is the best Same Game Parlay for Sunday Night Football between the Kansas City Chiefs and New York Jets.

Chiefs-Jets Parlay Leg 1: Under 41.5 (-115)

One key theme should ride throughout this football game: Defense. Both sides are good enough to control tempo and even the Jets have enough horses to force the Chiefs to slow down. Kansas City should look to exploit more short passes than try to just drop back and heave the ball downfield. Mahomes to Kelce will certainly be in effect but won’t light up the scoreboard. More on Mahomes below but Andy Reid’s offense is going to grind, hold the ball, and do the bare necessities to get out of a road game with a win. The Chiefs defense is surprisingly improved this year under Steve Spagnuolo. The Jets offense is atrocious under Zach Wilson and isn’t magically going to improve under a better Kansas City defensive unit. There is nothing in the Jets DNA that would indicate they have blowout potential over any football team, let alone this Chiefs pass rush.

Chiefs-Jets Parlay Leg 2: Kansas City – 7.5 (-110)

Not often a team riding a hook on the second most important key number is a great play, but have you seen the Jets? These are two correlated legs that will easily fall into place as the Chiefs should roll here. The biggest concern is a letdown for Kansas City, as Mahomes and company are playing in a game they’ve already won. The biggest counter to any letdown over the next few weeks would be what happened in Week 1. Losing to Detroit was the kickstart this Chiefs team apparently needed, allowing them to exhale and focus on the long trek back to the Super Bowl. The other part here is even if the Jets defense manages to contain the Chiefs, and Kansas City is down in this game, the Chiefs are so explosive they can turn a 4-point deficit into a 10-point lead in minutes. There’s been a decent amount of buyback on this line as it dropped from 9.5 down to 7.5 on FanDuel. That’s perfectly fine in a battle of supreme offense vs inept offense.

Chiefs-Jets Parlay Leg 3: Patrick Mahomes Under 2.5 Passing Touchdowns (-215)

Under the total, the Chiefs roll, and all while Mahomes stays under 2.5 touchdowns in the air. He might add one on the ground, but Mahomes will be capped at two touchdowns today, mainly because he won’t have to do much more. He’s only gone over this number one time, last week in a pounding of the Bears. The Chiefs will focus on running the ball and trying to wear down both the Jets front and the clock. Even if Mahomes leads the Chiefs to two early passing touchdowns, there’s no guarantee they will keep throwing deep, especially with a two-score lead. Expect this game to feel more like a boxing match going the distance, where one fighter is just in control without any major haymaker. Mahomes does just enough to win the game and cash this ticket.
