If you’re here, you want an industry-leading look at our Browns-Jets betting report. Alas, it won’t be Aaron Rodgers vs. Deshaun Watson when the Cleveland Browns and New York Jets meet on Thursday night in the Hall of Fame Game to open up the NFL preseason, but after six months with no NFL we will take what we can get.
Instead, it’s Kellen Mond against Zach Wilson to start things off. The public betting data makes it clear where the confidence lies.
And don’t let those fools tell you betting the Hall of Fame Game is for degenerates. There’s no need to get crazy (in any circumstance), but edges in the market can be found, especially using OddsShopper. That’s true for Browns-Jets, too.
Browns-Jets Betting Report: Public Betting Data
According to betting data released by BetMGM, the majority of bettors getting action down on the Hall of Fame Game are buying the new-look Jets — even if the newest look is unlikely to play.
The Jets opened as 1.5-point underdogs. However, New York is now a 1.5-point favorite while receiving 53% of bets and 59% of the total money bet on the matchup.
There’s even more of a discrepancy on the total, where 69% of the money is on the under (33.5).
Aaron Rodgers is not expected to start or play for New York, although he’s open to it at some point.
“I wouldn’t mind playing in the preseason,” Rodgers said, as transcribed by the Jets official website. “I wouldn’t mind if Robert [Saleh] said ‘Hey, we are going to go. Let’s do it.’ Most coaches have that fear where they want to get you to the Week 1 and not risk it, but I believe there is a chance for the last one.”
The Jets final preseason game is on August 26 against the New York Giants.
Zach Wilson is expected to get the start for the Jets.
