Cowboys-49ers Player Prop

Two of the most pulverizing defenses headline this Sunday Night Football showdown, but we’re still targeting an over on Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott. The game script has had little to do with Prescott cashing his over on pass completions. Prescott completed 28 of his 34 pass attempts in their route of the New England Patriots last week, with 19 completions coming in the first half. The Cowboys were able to halt almost all of the Patriot’s drives, which led to the Cowboys dominating the time of possession battle. That’s most likely to change on Sunday Night against a 49ers offense loaded with weapons.

These teams both rank in the top five of time of possession through the first four weeks. Something will have to change, and I project the Cowboys finding themselves in a hole early. The 49ers rank top five in points per first half (18.8), which has caused opponents to go into pass mode against them. Last week, Joshua Dobbs completed 28 passes, which was nine more than the sportsbooks projected. The first three games were much of the same. Kenny PickettMatthew Stafford and Daniel Jones all went over their completion line due to a negative game script.

Prescott’s 71.3% completion rate finds him in the top five amongst quarterbacks in that category. The 49ers’ top-five rush defense will make it challenging for Tony Pollard to get going. Expect Prescott to be the culprit in leading the Cowboys down the field and cashing this player prop in his fourth consecutive game.

Cowboys-49ers Anytime Touchdown Scorer

You can check Christian McCaffrey off your bet list. The best odds you can find him to score a touchdown is via FanDuel at -175. It makes sense for a running back who is coming off a four-touchdown game and 13 straight dating back to last season. That being said, we will take a flyer on Cowboys wide receiver Brandin Cooks.

Cooks may not be a sexy option, but he is a great number three receiver for the Cowboys alongside CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup. Cooks is coming off a 70% snap share last week while registering over 80% of the snaps in their loss to the Arizona Cardinals. A positive game script will have Cooks on the field and most of the attention centered around Lamb and Tony Pollard.

The veteran receiver and Prescott connected four times last week, which was a season-high. Cooks has deep ball potential that has yet to be unleashed with the Cowboys. All we need in one go-route for Cooks to find the endzone and cash this anytime touchdown at +340 on FanDuel. Meanwhile, the same touchdown bet is down to +230 on Caesars Sportsbook
