The Dallas Cowboys are a confident group this weekend as they’re set to go on the road and face the daunting task of playing Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the first round of the NFL Playoffs. Not only is Brady at his best this time of year, but he’s also carrying a 7-0 all-time record against the Cowboys into the matchup.

Cowboys Using Tom Brady Streak as Fuel
Of course, the Tom Brady streak vs. Dallas holds little importance. After all, the first time Brady beat the Cowboys was in 2003 when several stars on this particular Cowboys team weren’t even playing competitive football.
“It’s 2023. He ain’t beat us this year. That’s all we’re worried about,” Dallas safety Javon Kearse said when asked about the Tom Brady streak, per Fan Nation.
Even veteran defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence, who has been with the Cowboys for the last four times Brady has gotten the win, claimed the 7-0 record means nothing.
“No, not at all,” he said when asked if the streak matters this weekend.

The Buccaneers were a far cry from the team that won the 2021 Super Bowl and went down in an instant classic to the eventual Super Bowl champion Rams in the 2022 playoffs. This Buccaneers team (8-9) scratched and clawed their way to a postseason berth despite struggling on offense for most of the season.
They finished 15th in the NFL in yards per game (346.7) and 25th in points per game (18.4). Tampa Bay needed a come-from-behind win over the Carolina Panthers in Week 17 just to clinch the lowly NFC South and book a spot in the NFL Playoffs.
“We’ve battled through a lot of tough things this year,” Brady said, per the New York Post. “Happy to win the division. It’s always tough to do it. NFL games are tough to win and we always figure out a way to keep them somehow exciting. I wish they wouldn’t be as exciting as we made them.”
For the Tom Brady-Cowboys streak to live on, the 45-year-old will need to will the Buccaneers to their best performance of the season. Per DraftKings, the Cowboys are a 2.5-point road favorite for the Monday Night matchup.
