Per BetMGM‘s John Ewing, 99% of bets are on the over 15. 5 rushing yards prop for Dak Prescott. The line came up from 14.5 yards earlier in the week. Prescott ran seven times for 24 yards against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild Card Round of the playoff last week. And after the game, Cowboys owner Jerry Jones indicated that Prescott would be leaning on his mobility against the 49ers.
“In the regular season, I didn’t see him saving anything,” Jones said Tuesday on the Dallas radio station 105.3 The Fan after he was asked if Prescott had been saving his legs for the playoffs.
“I saw him take advantage of some opportunity. He probably could have [run] more times during the season, but the answer is in some of those games, we might not have needed it. Why do it, why risk it? Here [in the playoffs], we all understand why risk it.”
Prescott was understandably cautious with his rushing during the regular season, getting over 15.5 rushing yards in six games this season, but now perhaps he’ll use his play-making ability a little bit more with a trip to the Conference Championship on the line. But he’ll have his work cut out for him to break the 49ers’ contain efforts on Sunday.
The 49ers ranked second in rushing yards allowed (1,321) and tied for first in opponents’ yards per carry (3.4) during the regular season. They’ll now look to limit the Cowboys’ three-headed rushing attack of Tony Pollard, Ezekiel Elliott and Prescott.
Many out there will be happy if Prescott can utilize his legs to get around a tough defense on Sunday night. Bettors should sure to use OddsShopper’s tools for the best prices throughout the postseason!
