Waller is trending in the right direction. He missed Wednesday’s practice with a groin injury but was able to log limited reps on Thursday and Friday. However, he still picked up a questionable tag. NFL injury analyst Deepak Chona estimates his odds of playing in Week 6’s edition of Sunday Night Football at around 60%.

So is Darren Waller playing for New York in Week 6? He is trending in the right direction, but the Giants must be very smart about their risk tolerance in this spot. Regardless of whether Waller is available, the Giants have a tough task ahead of them on Sunday night. They’ll have to face the dominant Buffalo Bills, and they must do so with a backup quarterback (Tyrod Taylor) and multiple reserve offensive linemen in the starting lineup. Don’t expect head coach Brian Daboll to give Waller the green light unless the risk of re-injury is low.
