DeMeco Ryans Head Coach Odds: Who Lands 49ers DC?
Per DraftKings Sportsbook, DeMeco Ryans is not a favorite to land with any of the teams looking for their next head coach. The shortest betting line on Ryans comes with the Indianapolis Colts (+400), but he’s around that number for a couple of the other openings. Ryans is +500 to land the Denver Broncos head coach job, +550 to end up with the Arizona Cardinals and +1000 to be the next Carolina Panthers head coach. DraftKings is also offering new users the chance to win $200 in credits with any $5 bet on the NFL Playoffs!
According to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer, Ryans had interviews scheduled with the Colts and Cardinals on Saturday but opted to cancel in order to prepare for the Divisional Round game against the Dallas Cowboys. The Ryans-led 49ers defense showed out in a big way against the Cowboys, limiting them to just 12 points all game and picking off quarterback Dak Prescott two times.
“Just the way he is as a coach and a leader, he’s the best coach I’ve been around,” 49ers lineman Nick Bosa said of Ryans via Rich Cimini and Kevin Seifert of ESPN.
Ryans now turns his focus on a matchup against Philadelphia Eagles in the NFC Conference championship, but he does want prospective teams out there to know he’s fully confident he can be a successful head coach.
“For me, with the head-coaching thing, it’s like, ‘Are you ready, man?'” Ryans said via SI. “Yeah, I’m ready to go do it … It’ll be the first time. But I figured out everything else. I’m pretty sure I’ll figure that out, too.”
A lot of NFL fans were likely watching the 49ers’ performance on Sunday night and envisioning Ryans as their next head coach. But based on the latest Ryans head coaching odds update, he’s not in the driver’s seat for any of the current openings.
