De’Von Achane Injury Update

The Miami Dolphins are able to active rookie running back De’Von Achane from injured reserve this week, but will they? Achane suffered a knee injury a few weeks back and landed on injured reserve with it, handing control of the backfield back to Raheem Mostert. But Achane has logged limited practice sessions all week, and he could be activated in time for Week 11.

According to Miami head coach Mike McDaniel, it’s likelier than not that Achane will get activated in time to play. He told reporters that he was “very optimistic” about Achane’s availability early in the week, but that it wasn’t a sure thing that he’d suit up. After talking to reporters, McDaniel ended up listing Achane as questionable, leaving us to speculate.

Is De’Von Achane Playing for Miami on Sunday?

So is De’Von Achane playing for Miami on Sunday? It’s likelier than not, but again, it’s not a sure thing. McDaniel has little incentive to rush Achane back for a game the Dolphins are heavily favored to win, especially with Mostert, Jeff Wilson Jr. and Salvon Ahmed capable of filling in.

Achane is trending up, and the Dolphins are a 14-point home favorite over the Raiders this weekend. However, he isn’t listed on the player prop markets at bet365, while Mostert owns a rushing yardage prop of 57.5. Mostert cleared that number in three of his four games with Achane, so regardless of whether he gets activated, the over looks like a solid wager at bet365.

Whichever of Achane, Mostert, Wilson or Ahmed tote the rock on Sunday, the Raiders have been soft against opposing rushers. They have coughed up the third-most yards on the ground to the position this year (1,114), good for 111.4 yards per game. If you’re new to bet365?
