The night ends in a game finally featuring two teams with something to be thankful for — that doesn’t include a higher draft pick. The Dolphins are currently the eighth seed, one out behind Denver for the final playoff spot. While we still have plenty of football left to play, things are a little tight for Miami. Green Bay is doing a little better in the NFC, as it is in the sixth spot with Washington behind. It’s only Week 13, but these games mean a lot more in the loss column moving forward. This is also the lone game where the weather matters, as it should be cooler and wet in Green Bay — not great for Tua Tagovailoa. With that in mind, we are going to find the best Dolphins-Packers anytime touchdown bet for Thursday.
Dolphins-Packers Anytime Touchdown Bet for Thursday
I’m not looking to force anything here with the road team. The biggest concern is the weather, the second is the team is prone to turning it over, the third would be facing a team that forces turnovers. We know that Tagovailoa hasn’t played well in games below 50 degrees. That should be the case again in Wisconsin on Thursday evening, with the addition of rain coming down before and during the game. Normally, we tail a player on offense who has the best chance of crossing the end zone, but on this wacky short week of turkey-fueled football, we may have to buck the trend.
There is a general belief that the temperature should feel somewhere in the mid-20s by kickoff. Tagovailoa’s interception record in the rain is atrocious, as is his inability to keep from turning it over against better teams — i.e., teams with better records when playing. The Dolphins just throttled New England at home in far more comfortable confines. That changes against Green Bay, so let’s push this even further.
Tagovailoa has double-digit picks in just seven games played in 50 degrees or less. Green Bay might be one of the few remaining homefield advantages across professional sports as 70,000 shareholders convene on the stadium. This has Packers defensive touchdown written all over it, co-signed by Miami’s quarterback. At 6-1, this is a quarter- to half-unit play, max. While we don’t want to get too crazy and treat this like a -110 bet, you should fully expect some chances off turnovers for the Packers.
That’s essentially the bet here. We are betting on two-plus turnovers in this game, something that should be available with Tagovailoa’s inability to be selfish with the football. If Miami’s quarterback continues to celebrate an early gift-giving season, who are we to turn it down? Take a shot here at +600 on FanDuel.
