DraftKings Pick6 Predictions for NFL Week 6: It’s Dowdle’s World

Week 6 in the NFL means teams start to distance themselves from the pack, and others see an even wider gap as they sink to the bottom of the standings. As is the case most years, we still have a majority of teams in the middle — still looking to avoid the plunge while keeping up with that pack. The goal of DraftKings Pick6 is finding value and leverage against the field, either fading a popular play or tailing someone less in the spotlight. We want to hit our plays but also leverage some of the field. It’s the name of the game and we have two DraftKings Pick6 predictions to jumpstart your NFL Week 6 set!

Rico Dowdle M/L Than 0.5 Rushing & Receiving Touchdowns

Rico Dowdle is the man in the Dallas backfield. Now with double-digit carries in each of his last two games, Dowdle had 20 last week against the Steelers. He is the main threat to come out of the backfield against the Lions and a sneaky option in the passing game. While only two receptions last week against Pittsburgh, Dowdle turned that into 27 yards and a score. That’s where the dual threat of Dowdle becomes relevant here, as he’s not just a ground scorer — at least not with the current game plan.

The Lions will look to slow down the Cowboys passing game, certainly with Dak Prescott and CeeDee Lamb still a viable connection. Despite the rise of Jalen Tolbert, if anything, it just adds to the dangers of doubling on Lamb and leaving someone either open or on one-on-one coverage. That’s where Dowdle can be so good, leaking out of the backfield or running a quick slant or wheel route. He can take anything in the red zone and create space for a score.

We still like him to pound one on the ground, especially if he sees north of 20 carries in this game today. That’s going to be the biggest correlation for us, but it’s good to have that other out with a receiving touchdown. The Lions were looking strong heading into their last game, giving up fewer than 100 yards per game on the ground. That ended with 133 yards from Seattle in their last game. We like Dowdle to have another big one against Detroit.

DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Rico Dowdle More Than 0.5 Rushing & Receiving Touchdown

Wil Lutz M/L 6.5 Kicking Points

The Broncos are going to need points. Check that, they are going to continue to need points as they roll out this feeble Bo Nix-led squad. That’s not hurting the Broncos, at least not yet, as their defense and overall coaching has worked — even if Nix isn’t throwing for 300 and three touchdowns each week. That’s the point — he doesn’t have to do much more than not be the reason why his team loses. A lot of that is managing drives within the 20s, as the Broncos have a handful of skill players to move the ball.

Where it gets tricky is when drives stall or simply not even making it to the red zone. Wil Lutz has a boom of a foot and should have a handful of field goal opportunities. It’s not just the offense slowing down for Denver against the Raiders — or really anyone — rather the confidence in the defense on the other side. It’s twofold: The defense can survive if the offense only gives them three points. It’s one of the best units in the NFL and playing with any lead is dangerous. Also, Lutz gets longer chances because of his foot and that same defense.

I like him to drill at least two field goals today on at least three or four chances. Add a Denver touchdown — yes, it can happen — and we are gold.
