C.J. Stroud M/L Than 33.5 Passing Attempts
The Los Angeles Chargers have been one of the best defenses in the NFL this season. They rank in the top-seven in both EPA per play and success rate allowed, while surrendering the fewest points per game (17.7).
Still, as strong as they’ve been, they do have their vulnerabilities. The Chargers have struggled against strong running backs at times, allowing opposing backs to average 4.7 yards per carry – a mark that ranks 29th in the league.
C.J. Stroud is not the same explosive quarterback we saw in his rookie season. He’s regressed. While he can still produce the occasional flashy play, consistency has been an issue. The Texans’ game plan should revolve around one of their top playmakers, running back Joe Mixon, who can exploit the Chargers’ weakness in run defense.
If the Texans commit to this philosophy, we should expect less action through the air from Stroud, keeping him under 33.5 pass attempts. This is a mark he’s remained under in 10 of 17 games this season. Stokastic’s NFL DFS projections also have Stroud throwing fewer than 33 times in this game.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: C.J. Stroud Less Than 33.5 Pass Attempts
Justice Hill M/L Than 2.5 Receptions
While Derrick Henry receives most of the praise in the Ravens’ backfield, second-stringer Justice Hill deserves credit too.
Hill plays a significant role in the passing game, consistently producing strong numbers as a receiving option out of the backfield. The Ravens frequently involve Hill in screen plays, and Lamar Jackson doesn’t hesitate to check down to him when other options aren’t available downfield.
This season, Hill has averaged 3 receptions on 3.4 targets for 25.5 yards per game. In his first meeting against the Steelers, he was targeted seven times, catching four passes for 28 yards. In the second meeting, he saw just one target and failed to make the catch before exiting the game with an injury.
The Steelers allow opposing tailbacks an average of 4.3 receptions for 33 receiving yards per game. Stokastic’s NFL DFS projections have Hill pegged for three receptions and 20 receiving yards in this matchup. I agree with those projections and expect Hill to grab at least three catches tonight.
DraftKings Pick6 Prediction: Justice Hill More Than 2.5 Receptions
